THE SCARLET ROSE
God gave the world the scarlet rose
To remind us of His love
That He revealed through Jesus Christ
And sealed it with His blood
The thorns that pierced His sacred brow
Are there for all to see
The sacrifice that Jesus made
That day on Calvary
God gave the world the scarlet rose
To remind us of our sin
And that we can be forgiven
If we put our trust in Him
If we want to live again
Where the roses never die
We must confess our lawlessness
For I know that is why
Our life is like a scarlet rose
That blooms and fades away
As every hour quickly grows
Into another day
Though our sins be red like crimson
They will be as white as snow
In the kingdom of our Father
Where the scarlet roses grow
God gave the world the scarlet rose
To lead us to the cross
That Jesus bore before He died
To redeem the lost
The nails that pierced His hands and feet
And the spear that pierced His side
They all convey the love of God
That cannot be denied
Our life is like a scarlet rose
That blooms and fades away
As every hour quickly grows
Into another day
Though our sins be red like crimson
They will be as white as snow
In the kingdom of our Father
Where the scarlet roses grow
Though our sins be red like crimson
They will be as white as snow
In the kingdom of our Father
Where the scarlet roses grow
