I Can Only Imagine

 
I can only imagine, what the world was like

Before the fall of man
Who was created in Your image LORD

To fulfill Your plan
To create an earthly paradise

Where all mankind could dwell
In one accord with You dear LORD

Until they both fell

Everything was good, everything was fine
Until Eve was tempted and deceived

By Satan at that time
Everything was wonderful

And everything was new
When they were fashioned

And created by You

I can only imagine, what life was like

In paradise back then
Until Satan through the serpent

Came to cause mankind to sin
By saying they would be like You

For all eternity
If they disobeyed and ate the fruit

From Your forbidden tree

I can only imagine, what Adam thought

When You first gave him life
And when Eve conceived and bore two sons

When she became his wife
In Your garden known as Eden

They became a family
Who would sacrifice their right to life

By eating from that tree

Everything was good, everything was fine
Until Adam disobeyed the LORD
Like Eve did at that time
Everything was wonderful

And everything was new
When they were fashioned

And created by You

I can only imagine, how beautiful

Your garden was back then
When every tree prepared by Thee

Was pleasant to behold
And where all of Your creation LORD

Could live in harmony
As they watched Your plan for paradise

And every kind unfold

I can only imagine, how this world will be

When Jesus comes again
To put an end to lawlessness

And the devil’s reign
Then all of God’s creation

Will be remade and restored
Just like it was before the fall

According to the LORD

Everything was good, everything was fine

And every living thing on earth could procreate

After their own kind

Everything was wonderful

And everything was new

When they were fashioned

And created by You

When they were fashioned
