Down On My Knees

When my world of woe, came closing in

My life was stained with tears and sin

I felt no need to understand

My house was build on shifting sand

But then one day I realized

My world revolved on empty lies

I was overcome by guilt and fear

That was much too hard for me to bear

I got on my knees

Praying to Jesus please

LORD if You're there

Please answer my prayer

Come and deliver me

Grant me Your righteousness

Forgive me when I confess

Help me to see

You're closer to me

When I'm down on my knees

When the ones I love abandon me

Because of my philosophy

Relations come, relations go

Because they disagree I know

That Jesus came to save the lost

To give His life upon the cross

To shed His blood for you and me

That's why I want the world to see

I get on my knees

Praying to Jesus please

LORD I know You're here

You've answered my prayer

You came to deliver me

You gave me Your righteousness

You forgave me when I confessed

You've helped me to see

You're closer to me
