The Martyr's Blood
What evil lurks within the walls, of Christendom
What evil spirit, rules the hearts of men
That they would be so cruel, as to break the golden rule
And to sacrifice, the lives, of their children
Is this the kind of spirit, Martin Luther saw
That would burn a man, for wanting to be free
From the wages of his sin, that fans the flames within
And consumes the likes of those, like you and me
The seed is sown, and watered, with the martyr's blood
That nourishes the ground, in which it grows
To fill the earth with knowledge, of the laws of God
The tree of life will blossom, like a rose
What kind of Man, would give his life, so willingly
To make atonement, for the wrongs we've done
What kind of love is this, when betrayed with a kiss
Would pay the price of sin, for everyone
For this is why, the Lamb of God was crucified
To bear our guilt and shame, on Calvary
Rejected and alone, and bleeding to the bone
He gave His life, for those, like you and me
The seed is sown, and watered, with the martyr's blood
That nourishes the ground, in which it grows
To fill the earth with knowledge, of the laws of God
The tree of life will blossom, like a rose
The tree of life will blossom, like a rose
The tree of life will blossom, like a rose
