Now I've been a sinner for all of my life

Earning the wages of sin

When the seeds I had sown, had finally grown

I was convicted again

The path I had chosen to follow

Led me to destruction and strife

I knew I was lost, but rejected the cost

Until Jesus came into my life

My heart was broken by words that were spoken

By somebody special to me

I knew I would fall when I answered the call

But I was unwilling to see

My thoughts were unholy, and my life was slowly

Leading me back into sin

I got down on my knees asking Jesus to please

That He shed for sinners like me

And I've been forgiven for all that I've done

To put Jesus Christ on that tree

But now by His grace I am free

I once sang the blues until I heard the news
