Blessed Are They

Blessed are they who are poor is spirit

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven

Blessed are they who mourn and weep

For they shall be comforted

Blessed are they who are humble and meek

For they shall inherit the earth

And blessed are they who hunger and thirst

After righteousness

For they shall be filled

They shall be filled

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad

For great is your reward in heaven

When they persecute you for righteousness sake

Like they did to the prophets before you

Blessed are they who are merciful

For they shall obtain mercy

Blessed are they who are pure in heart

For they shall see God

Blessed are they who are peacemakers

For they are the children of God

Blessed are they who for righteousness sake

Are persecuted and afflicted

For theirs is the kingdom of heaven

Theirs is the kingdom of heaven

All manner of evil conceived against you
